FAQ
Questions, answered
Everything people ask before booking a session or requesting a quote for their team.
Booking and process
Book through the contact form on our website, by email at info@mays-pm.co.uk, or by phone on 020 3397 4594. Tell us which session type you need and your preferred date; we confirm within one working day and send a short preparation guide beforehand.
Individual sessions run 30 to 60 minutes depending on the package. Team sessions run roughly 15 minutes per person, so a group of 10 takes about two and a half hours including setup. Every session is unhurried, with time to settle before shooting starts.
You get settled and spend a few minutes talking through the look you want before shooting. We shoot tethered to a screen so you can see your images as we go and flag anything to adjust, then finish with a short review so you know exactly which shots you would choose.
Yes. We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to reschedule at no extra charge. Cancellations within 48 hours of the session forfeit the deposit. If something comes up, get in touch as soon as you can and we'll find a solution that works.
Yes, you are welcome to bring a colleague, partner, or friend; they just need to sit quietly while we shoot so you can stay focused. For team bookings, some clients bring along whoever is approving the final look, which is completely fine.
Pricing and packages
Individual sessions start from £150. Team and office pricing is per person and falls as headcount grows, with a custom quote for groups of 26 or more. Full pricing sits on our Pricing page with no hidden extras.
Every session includes the shoot itself, professional retouching on your selected images, and high-resolution files delivered through a private online gallery. Larger packages include more shooting time, more outfit changes, and more final images; what's on the pricing page is what you pay.
Individual sessions are confirmed with a 25% deposit at booking, with the balance due on the day. Team and office bookings are invoiced directly to the company, with terms agreed in advance. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations within 48 hours of the session.
Preparing for your session
Wear what you'd choose for an important client meeting. Solid colours photograph better than busy patterns, stripes, or branded logos, which pull the eye away from your face. Bring two or three outfit options so we can create variety without a full change each time.
Business professional or smart casual, depending on your industry; wear what you'd wear to a client meeting. Navy, charcoal, burgundy, and white all photograph particularly well against most office backgrounds.
Not necessarily. The goal is a polished, natural version of you on a good day, not a different version of you entirely. Arrive as you would for an important meeting. If you work with a makeup artist you trust, they're welcome to join you beforehand.
Wait at least a week, ideally two. Freshly cut hair often sits differently and can look slightly blunt in photos. The same goes for colouring: give it a few days to settle so it looks natural and familiar on the day.
Yes, we recommend it. Two or three tops, including a jacket or blazer as one option, gives you range across different looks without adding much time. Even swapping a collar or layering a jacket over the same top reads as a different shot in the final set.
Deliverables
That depends on your package. Individual sessions include 5 fully retouched images; team and office sessions include one retouched headshot per person as standard, with larger packages available. You review all usable shots and choose your favourites, so you control what gets delivered.
Retouched files are delivered within 48 hours of your session, or of you selecting your favourites for larger team shoots. If you need photos sooner for a start date or deadline, ask about rush turnaround when booking.
High-resolution JPEGs, sized for both digital use (LinkedIn, company website, email signatures) and print (business cards, brochures). Files arrive through a private online gallery; if you need a specific size or format, just ask when selecting your images.
Yes, professional retouching is included in every package. We remove temporary blemishes, lightly smooth skin texture, tidy stray hairs, and correct colour and exposure. We don't alter the way you look; the aim is a polished, natural result that still looks exactly like you.
Location
Yes, this is how every session runs. We bring a portable lighting setup, a backdrop if you'd like one, and a laptop for on-the-spot review, and typically photograph four to six people an hour depending on the package. Get in touch for a quote and to check availability.
All of Greater London, including the City, Canary Wharf, the West End, Shoreditch, and every inner and outer borough. Travel is included in the price you're quoted. For locations outside Greater London, get in touch as we can usually accommodate for a small travel supplement.
Usage and licensing
Yes. Every package includes a personal usage licence covering LinkedIn profiles, your company website, email signatures, speaker bios, and professional directories, delivered at the correct resolution for a LinkedIn profile picture.
Copyright remains with Mays Headshots, which is standard practice in professional photography. What you receive is a licence to use the images in the ways covered by your package, typically personal and professional use across digital and print. Get in touch to discuss extended commercial licensing.
Personal usage licences cover individual professional use: LinkedIn, speaker bios, your own bio page. For company-wide use across a website, press, or marketing materials, an extended licence applies and can be built into team packages; tell us your intended use when booking.
